Message from the golf club:
The Golf Club du Forez was created in the Forez plain, about 25 kilometers from Saint-Etienne, in the early 1980s. Designed by golf architect Michel Gayon, the course, recently modified, is now 5754 meters long with a par of 70 and a slope of 126. It is set on a 40-hectare area where over 5,000 trees and shrubs have been planted. Four ponds enhance seven of the course's holes. All the greens are elevated, giving the course a certain difficulty that isn’t immediately obvious, but many experienced golfers have noticed its impact on their scores.
The course is complemented by a one-hectare practice area with 8 covered stations and about 20 outdoor ones, as well as a green and bunker for approach practice and a 9-hole putting green. The clubhouse, covering 600 square meters, includes a very friendly restaurant, a bar, and a lounge where players can discuss their performances, a large area for bridge players, and a well-stocked pro shop with clothing and equipment.
Managed by a non-profit sports association, the Golf Club du Forez has had around 400 members for several years, which allows for easy access to the course for both leisure players and those wishing to play competitively.
Thanks to its warm welcome, its friendly atmosphere, and its members, the Golf Club du Forez is, above all: a golf club!
