Famed globally from Tokyo to Buenos Aires and Honolulu for its delights, Evian-les-Bains awaits the world’s top 132 women for Europe’s only Major Championship, hosted on the shores of Lake Geneva, surrounded by the towering French and Swiss Alps. Evian’s superb Championship layout has tested the world’s finest for over a quarter of a century, crowning champions – Dame Laura Davies, Helen Alfredsson, Annika Sorenstam, Lydia Ko, Suzann Pettersen, and more recently in 2023, France’s sensational Celine Boutier.

Lydia Ko of New Zealand hits a tee shot on the 14th hole during the Third Round of The Amundi Evian Championship 2024, on 13th July 2024.

Historically, Boutier’s 2023 crowning made her the third French woman to win a Major: Catherine Lacoste was first, Patricia Meunier-Lebouc followed with her 2003 US Kraft Nabisco victory, and now Boutier’s first Major victory in Evian secures her entry into this elite group.

The Amundi Championships have evolved superbly annually, with various improvements to the challenging layout originally designed for King Edward VII in 1909. In 2013, the Amundi Championships were elevated to LPGA Major Championship status, focusing on promoting women’s golf and developing young players globally. Evian’s verdant, undulating, testing layout was updated to a par-71, stretching 6,333 yds, when it became the LPGA’s 5th Major.

Cuvée 2024: Ayaka Furue, finally—after several years of missing this trophy—holed an impressive 15-foot eagle putt on the 18th for her warranted victory in 2024. Only Dame Laura Davies has been able to successfully defend her title at Evian. Can Furue defend and join Dame Davies? Several champions have won multiple times, like opening winner Alfredsson, Sorenstam, and Miyazato.

Evian Resort Course hosts this $8 million event the week of July 14th, with practice sessions and Pro-Ams followed by tournament play Thursday–Sunday. A variety of ticket offers/packages are available to the public now. Also, an original first for Evian – the perfect souvenir – a digital version of the Evian poster!
